Doctor, Can my disc prolapse paralyze my limbs?
First: you need to know what is a spinal disc?

The disc is the ( pillow) between vertebrae. As in the image it is composed of a nucleus ( white) and a fibrous belt ( green).
Serious situation exists because the nerves pass adjacent to the disc in the spinal canal ( red arrow).
Disc prolapse means that the nucleus escapes from the belt to outside.

Then, you need to understand how could disc prolapse cause paralysis?
That happens when the disc material compresses the nerve to a degree that harms it.
Here we must understand that:-
1- acute disc prolapse is more dangerous.
2- central disc prolapse is more serious.
